Draft Admissions and Appeals Policy
Our Admissions and Appeals policy has just been reviewed for September 2017 admissions. This policy sets out how our academies deal with over subscription, allocations and appeals. We are required by law to consult on this policy each time it is reviewed. We are now holding a consultation for this policy until 31st January 2016. A draft version of the policy can be viewed below and we would welcome any feedback by the end of the consultation on 31st January 2016. If you would like to send your feedback please email Stephen Watts, Partnership Director: Families & Community.
Art Exhibition 10th December 2015
The school has been a frenzy of activity this week finishing off preparation for our first ever whole school Art Exhibition on Thursday 10th December between 3.15 and 6pm. We look forward to sharing with you the wonderful art work the children have completed. You will be free to wander around the school with your children and there will be free refreshments available in the lower hall.
People in our Community
This week Reception have been learning about people who help us in the community.
Letter from our Head of School
I am writing to remind everyone about our exciting Christmas Shopping Evening next Friday at 5pm-7pm.
There will be lots of exciting stalls and activities so please come along and enjoy yourselves. All money raised will be going towards improving our outdoor learning areas – see the totaliser next to the First Aid room.
Thank you to all of you who have given your children contributions to bring in to school. FOBES are running a competition and the class that brings in the most items for the tombola wins a prize!
I am pleased to be able to let you know that The Old Independent Church is booked for our whole school carol service on Monday 14th December at 2.00pm. Please put the date in your diary!
Tiger Tea Party 2015
Last week both reception classes enjoyed the story 'The Tiger who Came to Tea' by Judith Kerr. All the children joined in with the 'Tiger Party' organised by FOBES and held in the lower hall. They listened to the story, played some games and enjoyed a tea party with the tiger who really came to visit!
New Nursery Garden
The new Nursery garden is beginning to take shape. This week the children have had great fun exploring their new play house. We hope that the house will provide hours of fun, encouraging the children to use their imagination and develop their social skills.
Letter from our Head of School
I have enjoyed welcoming back all the children this week after their half-term break. Staff and children alike are working hard this half-term on their Art Projects ready for our very first whole school Art Exhibition on Thursday 10th December at 3.15. All classes, as well as shared areas and halls will display topic work and pieces of art made by the children.
I am also looking forward to going on the French Day Trip with Year 6 children in two weeks’ time – it is always lovely to hear children using their language skills in the actual country. Our children have been learning French with Madame Kelly for four years and they have a good understanding of common French phrases. I must remember to set my alarm two hours earlier!
