 School Newsletter February 2017

Dear Parents and Carers

The term has rushed by and we are already at half-term.  Due to staff sickness we have been unable to do a long newsletter with photographs as planned so this will follow after half-term.

Thank you to all of you who attended our parent teacher consultation evenings and completed our questionnaire.  It was lovely to hear so many parents say how proud they are of the achievements of their children.

We have had a number of visitors in school over the last week and the ch

ildren have certainly done us proud.  Our pupil forum representatives meet and greet visitors as they enter the classrooms and many other children talk confidently to visitors about what they are learning.

I am also incredibly proud of our Team Captains who, along with committees from their colour team, have put on fund raising events for their chosen charities.

Thank you to all of you who have come into school to support these events.

The totals so far are:

Green Team:               British Heart Foundation      £23.71

Red Team:                  MacMillan                              £25.26

Blue Team:                 Save the Children                  £50.41

Yellow Team:              Canine Trust                           £9.15

World Book day

As part of World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March we are asking for staff and children to dress up as any character from books that feature animals. Some examples are:

The Tiger who came to Tea                The Gruffalo               Winnie the Pooh

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe                        Alice in Wonderland

Ideas for costumes can also be found at www.bookaid/worldbookday

There will be a book bring and buy sale after school on the 2nd March which will be run by the school junior librarians, and to end the week, we have an author, Gillian Overitt visiting school to talk to the children on Friday, 3rd March.

Well done to the following children who received certificates for
